Earlier this week I had the pleasure of participating in the Mashable Social Good Summit, on behalf of Jynwel Foundation, and joining forces with my friend Alicia Keys as she unveiled the new campaign that is uniting the world for social good, #WeAreHere.
#WeAreHere is a movement that understands that social issues don’t exist in isolation. It is a movement that urges us all to rise together, to be more tolerant, to understand and appreciate different cultures in order to make a more peaceful world for everyone. It is a movement that asks all of us to pledge our time, our money, our art and our politics to disrupt the status quo and empower people everywhere.
Through this campaign, individuals across the world are encouraged to speak out and take action against some of today’s most pressing issues. From gay rights, racial inequality, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, to the education of girls, reformation of the justice system, global poverty and gun regulation, #WeAreHere is breaking down barriers and making a positive impact on our world. This #WeAreHere ethos reflects the values of Jynwel Foundation – together, we can shape the world we want to see in 2030 and beyond. That’s why we’re pledging our support.
Jynwel Foundation will match Alicia Key’s personal donation to the #WeAreHere peace pledge and commit USD $1 million to support the movement. Because we know that when we channel our individual passions and strength and come together in unity, we are powerful. Will you support the campaign? Visit www.weareheremovement.com and share your peace pledge on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using #WeAreHere.
Change starts with you. Join us to build a collective power that can make a difference.
